Unfinished Business
While waiting in the garden area of a hospital for my husband's minor procedure to be completed, The Poet and Storytellers United prompt "unfinished project" came to mind and the stacks of "great" story ideas I once started also waiting to be finished.
There is so much unfinished business throughout the globe and it isn't just me procrastinating. We know what to do about climate change, hunger and homelessness and violence. We have yet to resolve these life and death issues for immediate gains even when youngsters don't get to finish into adulthood because of our mistakes.
But I wonder, does anything truly finish or do things change form like flowers do?
Of course, we know there's a bigger picture beyond our senses.
So let's agree perhaps on as many chapters as can be until our story says the end.

HOLD ONTO THE LIGHT |
Hello,
ReplyDeleteBeautiful flowers and plants, lovely images. We depend on our politicians to take care of things, I can only assume we are depending on the wrong people to help.
Take care, enjoy your day!
beautiful images
ReplyDeleteGreat shots. Good sky.
ReplyDeleteThe sky crossing the building. Really great.
ReplyDeleteYou always make me think deeply, Maria. There are so many unfinished business, and as the business is delayed or left behind, situation gets worse. Technology really progressed to make our life better…, but to deal with our common big issues, humans seem to be at wits end. Why can’t we see the same direction, putting aside the passions which divide us? I’d like to expect next chapter. Best wishes to your husband’s medical procedure.
ReplyDeleteHuman greed, indifference and rank stupidity are hurtling us towards the end at increasing acceleration, and the time has already past when we can do anything about it. Sad, but eye-poppingly true.
ReplyDeleteSpeaking on a personal level, I have so many unfinished things intended to be finished, but unintended life circumstances got in the way. Right now my life seems to be on hold. Can't speak to the political games that are being played out, but supposedly everything is part of a larger cosmic dance - beyond our control. I try to remember that in my personal life as well - not always easy...
ReplyDeleteI love your photo edits. Agreement seems hard to come by these days.
ReplyDeleteAs you already know, I can totally relate to the piles of unfinished ideas waiting to become more. The same goes for the rest. The world is a mess. There is so much hurt that could be ease, if people just did the decent thing, the human thing... But, as a race, we aren't the most humane of people. Sigh.
ReplyDeleteInteresting thoughts and great photos. It seems like most writers I know have all sorts of bits and pieces of work scattered here, there and everywhere.
ReplyDeleteI came back to look better at your pretty flower pages. Of course I had to read the material with them, yes, our world is in terrible shape, too much arguing and too strong party lines hold things back, lots of other reasons too.
Delete..
I'm glad that your writer is a "scribbler of unfinished pagesl" Those fold need help and more help. Or is it the unfinished pages of only the writer? This was a fun poem to read.
ReplyDelete..
Beginnings plead for endings... love that line.. I suppose things keep evolving, so yes to plodding on with those chapters meanwhile.
ReplyDeleteWell, I don't think that is what you wanted to be! But on the way to creating our completed pieces, there must be some we discard along the way.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pics as always and hope you get all the time to finish your incomplete projects
ReplyDeleteHello Maria,
ReplyDeleteYour flowers and the butterfly are lovely. I hope all is well with your hubby. I like your poem and all the photos. Thank you for linking up and sharing your post. Take care, have a great weekend. PS, thank you for leaving me a comment.
Beginnings plead for endings... whoo boy, they sure do! That whole last stanza is highly relatable.
ReplyDeleteA delightful treatise on what writers truly experience .... love, love this!
ReplyDeleteSuch a beautiful poem! Let's hope the incomplete pieces that crave resolution are completed swiftly. Love the masterwort flowers.
ReplyDeleteBeginnings and endings evolve, often evading resolution. The butterfly on the pin is a memory. I feel like the butterfly flitting through its brief existence, somewhat aware of my tiny being in the vastness and incredibly grateful to be experiencing the chaos and beauty.
ReplyDeleteBeautifully stated, Rose. I like the imagery you've conjured up here. :)
