President Joe Biden's inauguration was bursting with inspirational speeches and events. 

Heaven knows many who now breathe a sigh of relief also needed a good laugh. 

That's when Bernie stepped in with his cool attitude and awesome mittens. 

I couldn't resist joining so many others who included him in various ways in different spaces.

I think he looks super cute and cozy on a sofa designed for the cover art of my Couch & Company story.

    I was so happy to watch Biden’s inauguration on TV, too. I agree; Bernie looks “super cute and cozy”. Good job, Penelope!

    I had never heard about Bernie and hadn't seen him during the inauguration. Mittens are nothing special so I wondered why suddenly the old man (so he appeared to me ) was sitting in the most strangest places ! And now I know thanks to you and your link ! We don't pay a lot of attention of what happens in the States, only Trump made whole Europe laugh now he is gone and I don't think that Biden will play the clown now. The USA lost a lot of its glamour and had a rather bad reputation since they had elected such an insane person.

    The best thing of all is that Bernie, good sport that he is, turned the image into a fund raiser and raised almost 2 million dollars for Meals on Wheels.

    This is great! I laugh every time I see one of these. Bernie certainly gave us lots of smiles and chuckles, and the memes just keep playing. I love them. And I think it is great that the lady who made them got the recognition for those mittens.

    I love it. Bernie does look cozy on the couch. It was pretty funny how Bernie and his mittens ended up being highlight during the inaugural news. I watched the inauguration and was so relieved that the election turned out the way it did.

The Door To Forest Magic At Sandy Trail

There it was ... a bright dollop of sunshine in a tangle of forest greens, browns and silvery grays. The yellow door snuggled against a tree said Fairy Hall and, in tiny faint lettering beneath, No Trolls . Oh, how I'd love to know what goes on inside Fairy Hall. I wanted to tap on the door but, a giant by comparison, I didn't want to cause a scare. I often take the Sandy Trail with its gravelly path, woodsy stumps, well-trod stairs, rabbits, birds and squirrels. I know every twist and rustling sound. But I hadn't noticed the small door before. This unexpected bit of whimsy magic tucked into the forest floor made me curious about what else was in the mysterious thicket I'd yet to explore. When I continued on my way, the trees leaned in ... as if they had a secret to tell. Later, I found another fairy door (below), welcoming, but only to a select few.
