The Cosmic Dance That Never Ends

Is anything ever completely still or at rest for even one-thousandth of a second? Existence, seen and unseen, is never truly motionless or calm, although a photograph appears to stop time mid-action. Molecules within living cells are in constant flux as are the atomic structures of inanimate objects. Coordinated chaos is a continuous dance on the cusp of its next ballet. Cosmic forces are at perpetual play during, after and before you get off that chair, the fish is caught, the cat pounces, the petals fall, the berry is plucked or a peacock feather is ruffled. There is no flight from this remarkable choreography that binds us together.

The little fairy my daughter sketched so long ago in a rose petal dress reminded me of the cosmic dance that never stops and is why I am linking to PAINT PARTY FRIDAY.

  8. Everything is in the constant flux from the level of atom to that of universe, and each of us is dancing in spiral going forth - it’s so interesting. You always have a way with words, Penelope. I have heard repeatedly the same idea in different fantastic expression and choice of photos. The image of annual tree rings made me feel like jumping into the endless cycle. Thank you for this stimulation to my little grey cells. The dancing little fairy is so lovely.

  20. I've had lots of modern physics classes in my life and we learn that all objects are both a solid object and energy of a given wavelength. I can't quite get my head around it but I believe it.
One of my photography teachers talked about a bird photographer friend of hers who was convinced that birds vibrated and he tried to take photos of them with 1/1000 second or faster exposure times.

  21. Interesting musings. We can be threatened by change, or we can embrace it. But then, I suppose it depends greatly on what type of change it is!
