Tall Tales & A Spring Walk

We know a lot but also remarkably little about existence: the how, what and why of it. That doesn't stop us from filling in the unknowns with stories that feel very real about Creation. Best guesses rush into every unanswered question and every detail invites its own analysis and definitions. Even with such inventive minds, it is hard to imagine how something can come out of nothing as it seemingly does so effortlessly each Spring. My poem ponders the mystery of how creativity blooms in the outer-inner worlds.

    I love this post, Penelope, the poem, the thoughts and the photos. Thank heaven for nature, and spring - sparking hope in our hearts so burdened with the injustice of all that is going so wrong. Hope that as soon as humanly and politically possible, the tide will turn and we will begin rebuilding all that has been lost.

    I love how the poem’s words and the images come together to celebrate spring. It’s incredible to think how fortunate we are to live in the Goldilocks zone—far enough from the Sun to avoid burning, yet close enough to experience the beauty of all the seasons.

    Indeed yes, human beings do seem to be hard-wired to seek to explain the world to ourselves. Better, perhaps, to simply enjoy it – and your lovely photos certainly add to my enjoyment.

    A beautiful poem as are your photos! The photo of the trail through the forest leads me to ponder the possibilities that exist at the end of that trail!

    food for my soul...everything!! i have my hummingbird feeders out but have yet to spot a hummingbird!! the purple flowers are stunning...all of your images are!!
