Because the state of our planet is the most pressing issue of our time, link up and learn about the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) Report.

A beautiful poem, and your reference to "Starry Night" drives home the point of the wonders of the universe, life and the eternal questions: "Who am I? What am I doing here? Whither shall I go?"
ReplyDeleteIndeed, when one looks into space and reflects, one does get a glimpse of what is beyond...and we can realize we are ALL part of some greater cosmos which existed long before we lived and will exist long after!
ReplyDeleteThis poem is very lovely. I love that you include the link to the climate change report. It IS the most pressing issue of our time, though some governments dont seem to think so, ignoring floods and super-storms and wildfires expressing Mother Earth's message as loudly as they can.
ReplyDelete"There is a spark in me . . . " How lovely to know it and use the keyholes to the mysteries of the universe. I, too, love Starry Night. And to be aware simultaneously of the dire needs of our planet! Good stuff!
ReplyDeleteLovely poem - thought provoking.
ReplyDeleteI love your poem. As if through celestial keyholes I’m peeking for flickers of secrets beyond and last sentence Beautiful
ReplyDeleteGreat.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful poem. Lovely sculpture.
ReplyDelete"There's a spark / in me," I believe that "spark" is eternal consciousness and a part of our cosmos. I love the whys here triggering all the possibilities and also love the inner rhymes. The close is wonderful.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful, thought-provoking poem! I love the image of "celestial keyholes" and that you connected this cosmic curiosity to the most pressing issue of our time by linking to the IPCC climate report.
ReplyDeleteLovely poem speaking to questions asked when I look up to the sky and photo is perfect for the poem or vice vera ~. hugs,

There are secrets out there and beyond that we all ponder. Puzzled perplexed we will find out soon enough.
ReplyDeleteLovely poem — it feels like gazing at the universe through Van Gogh’s eyes and brush. The mystery that lies beyond the sky we see is so enticing… one day, the soul will slip through that keyhole and uncover the secrets it has long dreamed of.
ReplyDeleteWhat an enchanting thought ... the soul slipping through that keyhole. :)
DeleteNo wonder we are inspired by the “Starry Night”, the whirling stars and the huge spiral stretching across the night sky. I really like your poem. “Starry night” is 星月夜/ほしづきよ (literally star-moon-night) in Japanese. Though it contains the word “moon”, it is used to describe a beautiful moonless night sky where the light of stars is as bright as or brighter than moonlight. It is a seasonal word of autumn for haiku-poem. In Van Gogh’s Starry Night, there is a whirling moon, too, so I had taken the word literally “the night with stars and the moon” for long. Even at this age of mine, there are so many beautiful Japanese words and phrases I haven’t known.
ReplyDeleteWhirling thoughts as Vincent's Starry Night. Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteA marvelous poem and love the sculpture of the man in this setting. Thank you again!
