There it was ... a bright dollop of sunshine in a tangle of forest greens, browns and silvery grays. The yellow door snuggled against a tree said Fairy Hall and, in tiny faint lettering beneath, No Trolls . Oh, how I'd love to know what goes on inside Fairy Hall. I wanted to tap on the door but, a giant by comparison, I didn't want to cause a scare. I often take the Sandy Trail with its gravelly path, woodsy stumps, well-trod stairs, rabbits, birds and squirrels. I know every twist and rustling sound. But I hadn't noticed the small door before. This unexpected bit of whimsy magic tucked into the forest floor made me curious about what else was in the mysterious thicket I'd yet to explore. When I continued on my way, the trees leaned in ... as if they had a secret to tell. Later, I found another fairy door (below), welcoming, but only to a select few. See OUR WORLD to explore more sights from around the globe and SIGNS, SIGNS . Still the kid I used to be ...
Beautiful greenery.
ReplyDeleteNice poem and love your line 'when sobbing and suffering is
ReplyDeletea birdcall to where peace flew' Your other writing is always poetic as well and I love
'Harmony is the golden global sound I am listening for but can barely hear' A sad truth but beautifully said
Nice poem and great pictures - there is a great harmony within this - Well done.
ReplyDelete"world-at-peace fantasies"... I wish, hope it isn't a fantasy. How beautiful it would be.
ReplyDeleteMay the hope of better days keep us all walking.
ReplyDeleteI wish the sound of harmony was louder. Beautiful photos and poetry!
ReplyDeleteI too like to hear the birds sing, a lot of ours sing from roof top to roof top. I have learned how to chat with the mockingbirds. We have had a lot of birds this spring with blue, we are in the path of them coming across the Gulf of Mexico from places south.

A beautiful post. I like the words on your fridge magnet too.
ReplyDeleteInteresting thoughts indeed – the natural cycling between times of war and struggle and times/places/havens of sweet peace. Perhaps it is indeed a reality we need to face up to, as well as one in which we may find some comfort. It is my prayer that we find the interludes of peace and harmony sooner and hold them longer.
