Free But Not Really
My aspirations are far-flung and seemingly flying freely like the ball (mid-air in the distance) but not really. Somewhat like the kite, eliciting a few words below, life comes with stings attached as we rise and fall and rise again, trying to stay buoyant.
There is a shade of blue breaking through the rippling clouds.
There are shady spots to escape the heat and wander ... and the welcomed cooling of breezes.
Cool creations surprise along the way in unexpected places ...and there are snuggly spaces to hide.
There is faded beauty getting acquainted with its next phase ...and fresh seeds for a taste of what will become.
And since all things come and go, there is simple contentment in watching life's flow.

Beautiful, dramatic skies! The last photo made me smile. I can remember my son's fascination with tractors and such!
ReplyDeleteGreat shots.
ReplyDeleteHello,
ReplyDeleteBeautiful images, I always love a beach scene and the lovely skies. Beautiful poem and a pretty sunflower. My grandson loves to watch the big machines at work. Take care, have a great day and happy weekend! Take care, have a great day and happy weekend!
A joy to read and see.
ReplyDeleteGreat shots.
ReplyDeleteI love the idea of fate as the hand on a kite. Your cloudscapes are fantastic. Turn my world upside down!
ReplyDeleteI think being free but not really is kind of perfect -- I need to be anchored to those people and places I love while still free to be myself. On a less philosophical level, I think the lady walking along the shoreline is enjoying the beach in a perfect way ..Getting some exercise while contemplating the wonder of the ocean, dress to be safe from the sun's rays.. none of that dopey lounging around on the hot sand -- definitely a perfect day.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great poetic post you make for us. I love the idea about life is watching the flow. I love watching the flow.
ReplyDeleteLove your poem and all the photos, especially the rippling clouds and the shade. Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful images and words So you are heading towards autumn now. We have the garden full of daffodils
ReplyDeleteLove your words and your pictures... I feel refreshed.
ReplyDeleteA refreshing exhilarating post! :-)
ReplyDeleteI like your pictures this week. I'll choose the bottom one, the Dad and the Lad on bikes watching construction in progress. Like you poem lines also, I would argue that the whole of the kite except for the tail is ONE GIANT WING. Perhaps, huh? Anyway, if I wrote to the picture I would take that route, one whole being is a wing.
ReplyDelete..
Thanks for this, Jim! I see it your way now and love the idea of it being "one giant wing". :)
DeleteJust the place to take a stroll and enjoy the freedom...
ReplyDeleteVery fine photographs. Thank you for letting us see.
ReplyDeleteWonderful images, you make 'faded' look good! My favorite was the little boy and gentleman on bicycles.
