Free But Not Really

My aspirations are far-flung and seemingly flying freely like the ball (mid-air in the distance) but not really. Somewhat like the kite, eliciting a few words below, life comes with stings attached as we rise and fall and rise again, trying to stay buoyant.
There is a shade of blue breaking through the rippling clouds.
There are shady spots to escape the heat and wander ...
and the welcomed cooling of breezes.
Cool creations surprise along the way in unexpected places ...
and there are snuggly spaces to hide.
There is faded beauty getting acquainted with its next phase ...
and fresh seeds for a taste of what will become.
And since all things come and go, there is simple contentment in watching life's flow.

  3. Hello,

  5. I think being free but not really is kind of perfect -- I need to be anchored to those people and places I love while still free to be myself. On a less philosophical level, I think the lady walking along the shoreline is enjoying the beach in a perfect way ..Getting some exercise while contemplating the wonder of the ocean, dress to be safe from the sun's rays.. none of that dopey lounging around on the hot sand -- definitely a perfect day.

  11. I like your pictures this week. I'll choose the bottom one, the Dad and the Lad on bikes watching construction in progress. Like you poem lines also, I would argue that the whole of the kite except for the tail is ONE GIANT WING. Perhaps, huh? Anyway, if I wrote to the picture I would take that route, one whole being is a wing.
