Discovery
The Poets and Storytellers prompt "discovery" had me thinking Mother Earth is fluid and constantly changing. Perhaps this is why familiar scenes seem fresh. There is always something new to discover, especially if viewing nature as art. That's why there is an impressionistic side to some of my photos. I try to convey what the world really looks and feels like to me. My surroundings, like yours, are not flat, without texture, motion, delicacy or depth. Each step on the path has its own mood. And the more you look, the more you see. As I brush by the beauty, I notice some folks carrying bags to pick up litter they discover along the way. I admire their efforts. There is more than enough trash to go around world-wide. You can see some of it HERE. There are also innovative projects and discoveries in aid of the environment such as those HERE.

Beautiful shots
ReplyDeleteHello,
ReplyDeleteBeautiful poem and lovely scenes and photos. Great capture of the Eagle, I can almost hear it calling. It is nice that people are helping and picking up the litter. Take care, enjoy your day and happy weekend!
"And the more you look, the more you see." So true. And this includes the good and the bad, which (I feel) always balance themselves in the end. Our "masterpiece" of a planet offers so much... if we care (and dare) to look.
ReplyDeleteGreat post with perfect words to go with the wonderful photos
ReplyDeleteThe wall-less gallery reference is a reminder that there is beauty available to all. Arts, like photography, help us to see and appreciate what surrounds us.
ReplyDeleteVery thought-provoking shots each telling a story.
ReplyDeleteWhat beautiful sky and sand vistas!
ReplyDelete...these images are fabulous, but my favorites are the eagle. It's nice to see a train that is still on the tracks!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos. Mother Nature really is fluid and constantly changing. I just spend a couple days photographing sand dunes and was reminded of the constant change.
ReplyDeleteWe walk frequently in one park, and the scenery is always different in some way - refreshed by Nature. Nice set of photos today; I especially liked the bird pictures and the staircase in the snow.
ReplyDeleteLove nature being a wall-less gallery!!! Lovely pics, Maria.
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed the photos and the words. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteHello,
ReplyDeleteWonderful captures of the Eagle, it looks like it is a young starting to get the white head. The ducks are a cute sight. It would be nice if people would stop littering.
I like that mobile/windchime with the shells. Thank you for linking up and sharing your post. Take care, have a happy weekend.
The train photo is very neat! How scary would it be to hear that train coming when you were so close by. We see different things even when we hike the same trails. We love it too!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pics! Love the Eagle pics and the flowers.
ReplyDeleteI love the poem! It has really inspired me since I am in a poetry rut and couldn't post on Poets United this week because we were camping. I especially like the line 'sudsy seawater scrubs beach floors.
ReplyDeleteEagles are so large but their voices are so meek and weak. I remember seeing on TV two newsmen inside an eagles nest. They both fit in it! The nest didn't break from their weight. Eagles make strong nests. I love watching them perched on a tree without leaves watching the area and then swooping down upon its prey. So close to our boat to grab a fish. Amazing birds! Their wing span is huge. Their eyes are keen. They wait in line with other fowl taking turns on road kill.
ReplyDeleteGreat post.
ReplyDeletePoems and conservation are a great combo. Sometimes people forget about the beauty of nature when they're watching Netflix.
ReplyDeleteSpectacular nature photos!!
ReplyDeleteI'm involved in an Urban Wilderness where I live and spend a lot of time working on it.
I learned a long time ago about special people who do things with no fanfare there. Informal walking clubs who meet weekly to go on hikes and bring along garbage bags to collect trash from the trails. There are people with chainsaws that show up all on their own after windstorms to clear the trails of windfalls and many others.
There is a lot of good in this world.
The more you look, the more you see … is so true. All the photos are impressive art, I especially like the Eagle with his mouth open. Leave shared space cleaner than it was before, and bring your trashes back when there are no trash boxes around. Easier said than done? But many people have practiced this.
