The Fantastical Inner World & Artistic Expressions Of Margot Thomson

Painted images on canvas settled comfortably like ornaments on the grassy lawn at the Crescent Beach home of artist Margot Thomson who passed away this year from a brief illness. Her author husband, Ben Nuttall-Smith, put her vivid and extraordinary imagination on display, offering dozens of her paintings to the public for donations to Hospice. I wonder if you can guess which painting I took home.

  1. Grassy lawn looks a perfect location to such an impressive display of Margot Thomson’s works. “Vivid and extraordinary imagination”, indeed. I wonder what was in her mind during her painting as some looks scary. I'm not so sure which you took home, but I'd go for #2, 3, or 8.

  5. An unusual but effective way to display the work. Not sure which one I would have chosen but it would have to be one that was the least scary!

  11. I agree with the comments above that this was a lovely setting for her paintings, especially since many of them seemed to deal with stark/emotional subjects. A clever idea to support hospice and her art at the same time. You will tell us which one you took home, right?

    1. It's the third from the bottom, a dark large bush with a small tree on its right with clouds overhead ... a little different than the rest and painted during the earlier years of the artist. :)
