A Perfect Day

Stresses blind us to the beauty and mystery of existence. That is why a Van Gogh painting, a great film, stirring photography, poetry or song hold such meaning. Artistic creations flood our consciousness and carry us like a sparkling stream away from ourselves for a brief time. New perspectives seep into dusty deep corners of the mind where sleepy realization of life’s wonders reside. In a world of turmoil mostly human caused, I don’t want to bury my head in the sand but at the same time I don’t want to miss the awesomeness I tried to capture during a recent walk with my niece through Darts Hill Garden Park. The Darts family donated to the City of Surrey what began as a humble garden and grew into a grand collection of foliage over a 70-year period. Come walk with me through the garden, accompanied by a song you can link to at the bottom.

What beautiful pictures. I can still smell that pink flower. And that song.. it’s beautiful. Looks a lot like our walk.. minus the chickens..lol

    1. I'm glad you stopped by Sherry. Haha ... yep, a few chickens roaming around would have made the garden double-perfect. :))

  3. It's a great series of images. I think that if you reach the point where this kind of experience in nature does not move you, you had better check for a pulse!

  4. Love the layers in that ...guessing a peony. You've inspired me to go outside to look around. So much to see!

  5. There is nothing like a walk through greenery to revitalise the body and soul. The vivid blue of the irises is a reminder of Van Gogh.

  10. Gorgeous pictures ! I too prefer to look at the beauty of the nature and regret that we never see something positive in the News. Besides a Royal wedding maybe !

  11. Enjoyable walk, thank you! Such a multitude of blossoms for the beginning of summer is not cot common in our region; now it's time for peonies and irises. And dandelions - simple, unpretentious and lovely late spring marks!
    Have a wonderful week end.
    With best wishes,
    Irina
