Artistic Impressions & The Buzz Around Broligarchy
At the canvas of our planet sailing the cosmic sea and surrounded by unpredictability, the beach I visited is a lovely work of art that could do with some rain clouds painted into the sky by Mother Nature. Yet the hottest temperature in Canada this summer has not been near me but rather in Lytton, B.C. at 41.3 Celsius. In 2021, Lytton broke a record at 49.6 Celsius, an unlivable 121 Degrees Fahrenheit. Powerful as some are, life, along with its human inventions, is a fragile gift no matter what our status.

Hold Onto The Light |
...Maria, you and the artist found a beach that isn't brimming over with people. Be sure to hold onto the light!
ReplyDeleteStunning macro shot of the sunflower and bees. I'd like to be at that beach right now!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful.
ReplyDeleteLove the sailboats.
ReplyDeleteLoved this! The poem is vivid and thought-provoking, and the mix of beachy calm with deeper concerns felt beautifully balanced.
ReplyDeleteSpring is trying to happen, here in my bit of Australia. I look forward to beach weather.
ReplyDeleteIt would be good if something could swamp the broligarchy!
Wow! Beautiful series of photos at the beach ~ sunflower and bee are awesome ~ Lovely post as always ~ hugs and thanks,

Beautiful art! I'm a huge fan of sunflowers and you captured the bees, too.
ReplyDeleteO Penelope, "I'm so glad you came." Really, you gave me an idea for a post series for Tom and his Alphabet. I will publish a post for every one of my blogs. Those blogs must be crying, being abandoned an lonesome.
ReplyDeleteI hope to start with Dr. Jim's. If you have a goofy situation I can try to scratch and give you a goofy responce.
BTW, the Jim who commented likely be "Jim Australia " as I am "Jim Texas". Neither of us adds our location unless needed.
Thank you for checking out Penelope's page, Jim, and how wonderful that you found the visit inspiring. :)
DeleteAlmost certain your poem will be sitting amongst the most "intelligently" rendered.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos, especially the bees and sunflower. I haven't been outdoors doing sketching for some time. Maybe it's time to bring out the pencils. :)
ReplyDeleteIt seems that your poem expresses the knowing that the wisest people in the world are those you sit down, look at it and appreciate it - what a wonderful thought - Jae
ReplyDeleteI love watching plein air artists work on site—there’s something so captivating about it. Your picture really evokes the feeling of a Monet painting. The closeup of your sunflower is amazing.
ReplyDeleteAs for the term "Broligarchy," there are some influential women in tech too —like Melinda Gates, Lisa Su (CEO of AMD), and even MacKenzie Scott, Jeff Bezos' ex, to name a few.
Have a good weekend!
Such an interesting point, though for the most part these high-placed women are more interested in world health than world domination.
DeleteHello Maria,
ReplyDeleteIt is fun watching an artist at work, the painting looks beautiful.
The beach is a perfect place for the scene for a painting.
The bees love the sunflowers, maybe as much as I love them too.
Thank you for linking up and sharing your critter post. Take care, have a great weekend.
the picture of the artist is fascinating and so fun, i too admire her carefree vibe, it's just such a great picture. also the image of the sunflower, it is so completely crisp and clear!! gorgeous images and wonderful thoughts today, the sailboats look so peaceful!! have a wonderful weekend!!
ReplyDeleteI would love to be more talented and be able to capture some lovely scenes!
ReplyDeleteI love to see artists at work out in the world.
ReplyDeleteLovely Penelope. The pics are wonderful. Especially, the lady painting. I liked her small easel.
ReplyDeleteI always find your images absolutely beautiful. Today I especially loved seeing the bees on the sunflower. This broligarchy should be concerning to us all. Your poem says it all.
ReplyDeleteLike the photos, particularly the artist. I have never seen an artist at work on the beach or for that matter even in a park. Your summer has been very hot. .. 42 makes me feel uncomfortable :)
