Leafy Lullaby

It was a beautiful day in the Crescent Beach neighbourhood.

Birds were flitting in and out of bushes and trees.

Spring is in full swing and although leaves are filling the branches, occasionally one is set loose by an unexpected gust that blows it from the rest. The buoyant journey of an unaware hapless leaf inspired my rhyme below.

Sometimes it seems humankind behave as hapless leaves thinking we are still attached to something, thereby, giving up on our own potential to course correct, personally as well as globally. April 22nd is World Earth Day, a time to reflect and get empowered.

  10. Love that bird. Absolutely we can course correct, but we simply aren't doing it well enough to fix climate change.

  13. Love that cheeky little robin! The house my husband and I shared came with one like that. He'd look right in the window as if he knew he'd been there first, not a bit afraid of humans, though he kept out of the way when humans were outdoors.

  19. The Cresent Beach is a beautiful place. The shoreline walks with you is always fun. The birds and flowers look celebrating springtime. I like your poem. I like to see leaves dancing in the air but we are not leaves. We should not follow the wind but change the current course to the new direction ignoring the easy way that too many people resort to.
