Small Victories
Challenges are relative, aren't they? What can seem like small success to one can be a huge achievement to another. After being set free from my cast, I found a weak wrist that reacted painfully even to the touch of water. Bed sheets were a monumental lift. The Poets and Storytellers prompt "small victories" is my chance (perhaps in a silly way) to express what success meant to me. My wrist isn't normal yet but better with time and exercise, as is my ankle, so I'm glad to type, untangle bedding more easily, walk and discover the wonders that lie at my feet along Crescent Beach Park shores.

Glad you are on the mend, but sorry to hear that the wrist is still painful and weak...Love your photos. For me they really speak to perspective - as in so many different perspectives that we can see things through... I'm trying to learn to see life through a different perspective... challenging...
ReplyDelete...your neck of the woods looks mighty fine. Happy Easter.

Beautiful photos. So true that challenges are relative! Have a Happy Easter!
ReplyDeleteCelebrating your victory by small steps. Brava!
ReplyDeleteGreat views.
ReplyDeleteHello,
ReplyDeleteBeautiful coastal scenes and photos. I am so happy you wrist is healing, the exercises do help. Take care, have a blessed and Happy Easter weekend.
A very fine report write, I am glad things have recovered. Getting ones strength back is a 'grinding' must do item. Be sure to follow your therapy plan, it pays off big time. A side advantage is that it helps getting stiff. Push to the limit at every therapy directed excercise.
ReplyDelete..
p.s. I love your pictures. I've narrowed down to three favs, the couple gazing at NYC's skyline, the reflection water, and the benched couple.
ReplyDeleteIt would be fun to have NYC's skyline at my doorstep but pictured is Burnaby in British Columbia visible from across the bay at Crescent Beach. The Northshore Mountains make a nice backdrop for the city. :)
DeleteGet well soon. Very nice pics.
ReplyDeleteOh the frustration! But may you continue to have such small victories.
ReplyDeleteI can relate to that- post surgery, each new activity that becomes possible again feels like a huge victory! Hope you recover fully soon.
ReplyDeleteI'd take a healing wrist quite seriously! I'm glad its on the mend.
ReplyDeleteYour victory is humongous!!!! Healing bones is difficult, challenging, painful ... those of us who have worked through the pain know. Loved how you presented the journey, well penned. The images as well.
ReplyDeleteStriking images!! I love them. You have a way of capturing scenes. I send prayers and wishes for quick healing from your injuries.
ReplyDeleteHappy Easter to you, Maria. Wish your days be full of light. I’m glad to know that your wrist and ankle have been improving. I’m so happy with every small victory, not only mine but also my families’ and my friends’. We are constantly fighting to overcome something including growing better every passing day. My favorite image is reflection in a puddle.

That's a small victory, but a real one. Cheers! Many more!
ReplyDeleteLovely photos. I get how much we take simple tasks for granted until we lose the ability to do them!
ReplyDeleteI hope you continue to improve. Love your photos!!
